Its mission is to gather and disseminate evidence about the effects of interventions within all parts of the health services. The uptake of this evidence by the health services is an important goal for the Centre’s activities. The Centre supports the government, the regional health authorities, and the health services in general to incorporate evidence into their practice. The research team has worked actively in the area of guideline development and implementation for two decades. They coordinated three previous Framework projects (ReBEQI - Research Based Education and Quality Improvement, QLG4-CT-2002-00657, www.rebeqi.org, Practihc - Pragmatic Randomized Controlled Trials in Healthcare, ICA4-CT-2001-10019, www.practihc.org, and SUPPORT - The SUPPORT Collaboration: Supporting Policy Relevant Reviews and Trials, PL-031939, www.support-collaboration.org ) and are currently coordinating a fourth project (SURE - Supporting the use of research evidence for policy in African health systems, GA-222881).
